Powerful, and so it accumulates. Keep the inventory honest.
What it actually does
- Audit a container in plain language. 1Presence reads through your GTM container and tells you what is in it — every tag, what it does, what fires it, and any rules that look stale, redundant or risky.
- Find the tag firing where it should not. Tracking that crosses domains it should not, a conversion pixel still firing on a pulled page, a script with a wildcard trigger — surfaced before it becomes a privacy review.
- Inventory the third-party scripts you have forgotten. Old A/B tools, a heatmap pixel from a vendor you stopped using, a marketing tag added before you arrived — listed, so you can decide what still earns its place.
- Draft changes in a workspace. Need a new conversion tag, a scroll-depth trigger, or a cleanup of a stale rule? It prepares the change inside a GTM workspace and shows you exactly what it set up. Available when you connect with workspace edits.
Publishing stays with you
This is the important line. Even with write access, 1Presence only ever prepares changes as drafts inside a workspace — exactly where you would build them by hand. Nothing goes live on your site until you publish the container yourself, in GTM, the way you always have. The connector deliberately does not hold the permission to publish.
Try asking
Your container, talked through:
Reads the tags, triggers and variables and explains what each one does.
Cross-references tags against their triggers and flags the suspects.
Inventories the vendor tags so you can decide what to keep.
Prepares both in a workspace for you to review — you publish in GTM.
Read-only, or let it draft
Connect through Google and choose your level. Read-only is a safe way to audit — it reads the whole container and changes nothing. Read + Workspace edits lets it create and update tags, triggers and variables as drafts, and tidy stale ones; deleting anything always asks you first.
Across both levels, the publish step is yours and only yours. The token is stored encrypted and revocable in one tap.
How access works
Audit on read-only. Draft on write. Publish yourself.
Read your container in plain language and inventory what is loading — then, if you grant it, draft changes in a workspace. Going live stays a human action, in GTM, every time.
