Income & Outgoings

A quiet ledger of what actually moved, kept without you filing anything.

A quiet way to keep on top of money. A weekly sweep reads your email for what actually moved — salary in, spending out, subscriptions renewing — and a ledger keeps the record; the first sweep looks back a year, so the dashboard is charted from history the day you add it. A skill also catches anything you mention in passing, and a dashboard shows where things stand.

How it works

The mechanics of this kit, plainly — what runs and when, where the data lands, and what you look at.

  • Weekly money sweep runs mondays · 8am and keeps the Money at a glance dashboard fresh. Every Monday at 8am — finds the money that moved and keeps the ledger current.
  • What is captured lands in the Money ledger record, which lives at Data/Money Ledger in your vault — yours to open, search, and edit like any other file.
  • The Money at a glance dashboard reads from the record. Spend, income, and upcoming bills — drawn from your ledger.

The wiring, in one breath: Weekly money sweep writes to Money ledger · Money capture writes to Money ledger · Money ledger shown by Money at a glance · Money at a glance kept fresh by Weekly money sweep.

Make it yours

Nothing here is fixed. The pieces are ordinary agents, routines, records and dashboards, so anything you know about shaping those applies. Retire whatever earns nothing.

Things people usually change first

Say any of these in chat, or edit them on the kit’s page in the app.

  • Which categories exist, and what falls into each.
  • What counts as a transfer rather than spending.
  • When the weekly sweep runs.
  • Whether it raises a card for an unusual charge, or stays silent.

Your first run

Installing starts a short setup conversation — not a form. Answer roughly, correct later.

  1. Adding the Kit offers the first sweep right away: connect your email on the same screen, start it with one tap, and watch it read back through a year of money that actually moved — salary in, spending out, subscriptions renewing — charting the board from real history rather than starting empty. Prefer not to connect email? Tell Steward what comes in and goes out instead, and the ledger builds by hand.
  2. When that first sweep finishes, Steward leaves a short note in your 1Presence inbox saying what it filed — how many movements, across how many categories — and invites two minutes together to walk the categories and mark which payments are transfers rather than spending.
  3. From then on it raises a card only when something needs a person — an amount it could not read, a regular payment that has not appeared, a subscription that renewed dearer.
  4. The categories are yours, not a fixed list — correct one in chat and it keeps that rule from then on.

Watch the first pass, then tell it what you would have done differently — that correction teaches it more than any setup could.

The essentials

Learning, preferences and run costs work the same in every kit — so they are covered once, in the Kits guide.
